Getting from Caching 1.0 to 2.0 with QLogic’s FabricCache QLE10000

Using PCIe-based flash cards to accelerate server operations has become a regular practice within data centers of all sizes. By keeping hot data on these flash card inside the server, and going to shared storage for everything else has become a standard practice. This server-based caching version 1.0. It is advantageous to place caching inside the server, closest to the application, but there are inherent limitations to this approach.
